Marco Pompignoli

Born in Forlì on March 11, 1967.

Education: In 1991, he obtained a degree in Economics and Commerce from Bocconi University, Milan. In 1993, he passed the state examination for qualification as a Chartered Accountant and is registered with the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Forlì-Cesena. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Career: In 1992, he completed his military service as a reserve officer in the Guardia di Finanza. From 1993 to 1999, he worked for a leading audit firm (Arthur Andersen), eventually becoming an audit manager, gaining experience both in Italy and abroad. Since 2000, he has served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Cairo Communication S.p.A., responsible for administration, finance, and management control. He is also the officer in charge of preparing the company's financial documents.

Since 2004, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Cairo Communication S.p.A., overseeing and supervising the administration, finance, and management control functions of the Group. He is responsible for internal control and risk management systems.

Since 2016, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of RCS MediaGroup S.p.A., supervising the administration, finance, and management control functions, as well as legal and corporate affairs, procurement, and information systems of the RCS Group. He coordinates and supports the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the CEO. He is also responsible for internal control and risk management systems.

Since May 2021, he has been the Executive Chairman of Unidad Editorial SA, a company controlled by RCS MediaGroup, primarily involved in Spain in newspapers (El Mundo, Marca, Expansion), magazines, book publishing, radio, event organization, conferences, and journalism master's programs.
